1919. After the war, the economy is in ruins. Entrepreneurial action is the only way to bring about change. Hermann Christian Knüppel boldly opens a paper wholesaler and is determined to use his experience and ideas to succeed as an entrepreneur. On 1 April 1919, he lays the foundation stone for the Knüppel Verpackung company in Hann. 50 years later, he passes on his experience to his grandson Gerhard Hahn.
Today, Gerhard Hahn and his son Ernst Hahn head the company with almost 400 employees. Although a lot has changed since the foundation: the importance of paper in the packaging process has remained – as has the ambition to always find practical and state-of-the-art packaging solutions for customers. This is because today, with the extremely diversified freight transport and a multitude of different distribution channels, new challenges arise with almost every new product. There is a lot that can already be achieved with cleverly used standard packaging materials – and, if necessary, by combining them. However, it is often a case of developing individual solutions using the whole range of different design options and materials.
Standard packaging or new development: at Knüppel Verpackung we always aim to ensure that both the user and the recipient of the goods are completely satisfied. Central factors in this are the technically smooth handling of the packaging, its economic efficiency and ecological sustainability – and of course the safety of the packaged goods.

Since it was founded, the company has continued to develop and has grown its client base.
