Packing Materials

“Biodiversity” makes sense!

In order to optimally combine desirable packaging features with the respective product protection requirements, we use a wide variety of materials – sometimes mono-material and sometimes combined. In order to find or develop the optimum packaging for the respective intended use, our packaging professionals minutely co-ordinate technical, environmental and economic considerations. Below is an overview of the most important materials used:

Foams

Foams differ in regard to the raw material used in their production as well as in other ways. Cell size and density, surface condition and moisture absorption are additional variants. This allows us to obtain very specific application properties such as elasticity, cushioning, compressive strength and abrasion. There are also different processing techniques – including milling, cutting, stamping, welding and printing.

Corrugated cardboard and honeycomb panels

Corrugated cardboard and honeycomb panels are structurally reinforced materials based on paper – well suited for foldable boxes, customization as well as interiors such as partitions, carriers, separating and intermediate layers. They are often used in load carriers and collecting containers such as Tray, KLT and pallet boxes.

Solid plastic boards & twin-wall sheets

They are made of PP or PE and can be used in many different forms – as workpiece carriers, compartment inserts as well as foldable or rigid boxes with very different bottom and cover designs. Their surfaces are abrasion-resistant and largely lint-free. Panels clad with soft nonwoven fleece can also be used for surface-sensitive packaged goods.

Steel and aluminum

These materials are mainly used to produce rigid, yet collapsible transport means that ensure maximum safety and packing density. These are mostly closed containers or open load carriers ideally suited for the economical and reusable transportation of components from the automotive, aerospace and engineering industries. Their construction dimensions are geared precisely to the requirements of the airfreight industry, sea containers, trucks and railway wagons.

The containers and load carriers produced by our subsidiary Ckdpack impressively support transport-specific loading and unloading operations with their removable and foldable sides or doors. They have a load capacity of up to several tons. The surfaces of the load carriers are painted or galvanized. A patented fastening system for their interior ensures that components are held securely in place – and allows you to switch shipping goods within minutes.

Flexible materials

Films and nonwoven fleece are suitable for applications that require a barrier effect against water vapor, grease, oil or light, or where considerable mechanical material strength is desired. It is often about providing the maximum protection of sensitive surfaces. We offer an extremely broad range of standardized two, three or multi-layer composite materials, but also manufacture according to individual customer specifications. Nearly any combination of paper, cardboard, crepe, film, aluminum, foam, fabric, nonwoven fleece and PE extrusion is possible. We can offer our customers special application options by combining these with anticorrosive materials.
